My name’s Melissa McCombs: I’m a local artisan & small-business owner in St. Augustine F.L. I specialize in the distillation of locally harvested botanicals under the brand: Madame Moon Co.

Distilling Hydrosols is an extension of my relationship with the magic of nature since forever - exploring the distillation process was a natural progression in the journey of my practice, a niche in the vast work of herbalism that captivated me since my very first distillation of Cedar in a small copper alembic: a valuable and revitalizing alchemy that inspired me to extend to our larger community reliable and potent distillations of aromatic botanicals (Hydrosols) to assist in daily health and vitality.

Aromatic Botanicals such as Lavender, Tea Tree, Lemongrass, Aloe, Anise, Rosemary, Basil, Cedar, and Cardamom hold a unique and identifiable magic as Hydrosols and are among the MANY plants I work with. 

Though each Hydrosol has a unique molecular and therapeutic profile - they all allow for an uplifting and symbiotic relationship between human beings and plants that is wonderful to explore. 

Misting Hydrosols as a daily practice invites a therapeutic and revitalizing energy into each day and compels us to recognize and benefit from the unique gift of plant symbiosis for personal health and well being. They clear the energy of our environments, act as agents of healthy skin, catalyze aroma-therapy, and sanitize our public and personal spaces, all at the same time!

Hydrosols are “plant allies.” In our family experience with distilling and using our products, we concur: Hydrosols carry revitalizing energies, they share the magic of aroma-therapy and they gift us with tangible, immediate benefits for mood, mind, and body in the felt presence of the moment.
